Welcome to Greenwood Township!  We are located in Northeastern Minnesota in St. Louis County between the cities of Cook and Tower.  A majority of our Township includes beautiful Lake Vermilion.

This website is designed for residents and visitors alike as a resource for information about the Township’s services and policies.  We hope to give new and long time residents a quick and easy way to access our information on community events, ordinances and policies, board members and the minutes of our meetings.  We strive to provide up-to-date information on township services and what we are doing to enhance your quality of life.

Check back often for updates on park, recreation and senior center activities, latest action of the Town Board, township news, and other areas of interest.

The Fire Department is requesting that residents do the following:

Please clear snow, brush and grass around 911/address signs.  Please keep the roadways clear so they can enter without damage to the trucks.
If  911/address signs for your property or dockside are needed, contact the clerk at 218-753-2231 or E-mail:  Clerk@greenwoodtownshipmn.com .
The only way the fire department can efficiently respond to an emergency call is with the help of the residents.

PRIMARY ELECTION DAY

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Polls Open from 7 AM – 8 PM

Voting Location: Greenwood Town Hall at 3000 County Road 77 –

Tower, MN 55790

Absentee Voting: June 26 through August 10, 2026

A citizen can vote absent by requesting and completing an application

through visiting the website: https://mnvotes.gov or visiting the St. Louis

County Auditor’s Office in Virginia or Duluth. Addresses noted below:
