Treasurer Rodgers talked of an amendment to the Wage Theft law in Minnesota regarding payroll
Motion: Deluca\Beihoffer to approve changing the payroll date to the 15th of each month, with the exception of Oct 2019, which will have 2 payrolls to comply with new MN law Passed 5/0

Change to appointed clerk \ treasurer – tabled until Oct meeting
Ralston explained how a grant from Blandin will absorb costs of getting work done for broadband
Motion: Ralston to approve applying for Blandin Grant monies for broadband Failed, no 2nd Ralston also noted that Virginia does not charge to be a fiscal agent.
Donation to Broadband feasibility study – a bill will be sent to Greenwood township
Discussion on change to NESC for internet – NESC has hooked us up. Frontier service will be left as is
Question for brushing on ballot – wording for – tabled until Oct meeting
Deluca discussed an OSHA complaint that was issued to Greenwood Fire Dept on Sept 10, 2019

REPORTS: Supervisors: Ralston – attended the MAT District 10 meeting
Motion: Ralston\Deluca to have no ‘information request’ information given to Jeff Maus Passed 5/0 information can be looked at in the public packet. No information – not even the weather.
Motion: Ralston\Deluca to cancel any previous emails – from Attorney Mike Couri to supervisors and not to the clerk – from being sent to the clerk Passed 5/0
Ralston checked on the fire dept records on the computer \ cloud. Ralston noted the paving for the parking lot should be done by the end of the month. Rain has been problematic.
Reports: Supervisors: Deluca thanked Ozzie Leciejewski for putting up the new flags, quote will be in the papers for snow plowing
Motion: Ralston\Beihoffer to approve an ad in both papers regarding brushing \ 911 signs Passed 5/0
Cannisters are out and area has looks good. An LED light on the flagpole, and a new whirly bird on the hall roof has been replaced
Fire Dept: Runs: 5 fire, 10 medical, 1 drill, 1 meeting, 1 fd training, 1 emr training. PERA will be contacted to do an analysis for the fd. MN Fire Chiefs Annual Conference is coming up. Mesabi will have a Fire Chief presentation. FF classes in Cherry, Chisholm, Biwabik and Tower. Will have a drill on the boats for night operation. Pump test re-done? Tim Lind is doing fd repairs. Need 911 signs \ roads brushed.
Deluca noted, Dave from OSHA, said it is a good thing to have outside repair people. 911: 4 signs were made.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Louise Gately commented on the trouble she and her family have had with internet connection. Asked for the township to support 21st century technology. Please take the lead in getting better internet \ broadband to this township. The residents want it. John Bassing – IRRRB approved several grants, including $900,000.00 for Morcom township. Morcom township supplies only $10,000.00. Greenwood township needs to update, high speed is needed, Frontier is a problem. Meet the needs of tomorrow. Mike Hatlestad board needs to improve the infrastructure in our community with Broadband. This is a safety issue. Gary Haugen asked each board member – why a second can not be raised for the Broadband issue – no reply from the board. Noreen Butala, Greenwood Rec board has finished clean up in the pavilion area. Marcie Moe is completely against the appointment of clerk \ treasurer positions. Questioned the salt in the softened water.
CORRESPONDENCE: Letter from SLC with revisions for SLC Ordinance 62, SLC Community Block Grant information, SLC variance hearing for Roskoski, SLC variance for Olson, SLC aggregate program, SLC regarding State Tax Forfeited land.
Further discussion between residents and the board on the Broadband issue. Ralston suggested a public meeting between residents and broadband\internet carriers.
