Reports: Supervisors, Fire dept: 5 fire, 13 ems, 1 mtg, 1 drill, 1 training. Lucas device – grant through Arrowhead EMS – as a non-ambulance community, Greenwood qualified. Lucas device is a mechanical CPR device and personnel will need training. Craig Gilbert has gotten EMS training. Burn trailer will be available at Fayal Township for training. EMR license re-certifying process has changed. RSCBA hydro testing has been done. Types of tank life differ. SOG worked on. Inventory has had updates. Pagers have been updated – possibly sell old equipment. Motion: Skubic\Deluca to approve sale of old radio equipment Passed 4/0 An invite from Fortune Bay for training. Bring truck to Bois Forte Head Start Pgm on Oct 3. Boat 1 out of water on Oct 18, Boat 2 to stay in water for now. Gas monitors need calibration for use. Many false alarms at Heritage Center. Laurentian North meeting Oct. 25. Training for water shuttle using storage water tanks. Jeff Maus – burn trailer information- he will be in training for Instructor II. MBFTE and State Fire Marshall office has props for use. Safety: Bi- Annual physicals and fit tests being done. Clerk: generator needs a new cooling heater. Menards rebate from carpet. Town hall flooring to be stripped and rewaxed on Nov. 20. Received our Lake Vermilion Trail Joint Powers agreement. Office inventory turned into Chair Ralston.
Public Comment: John Bassing – 1. Has board done anything about the MBFTE false claim? Ralston replied – they are working on changing the SOG \ POC to get members removed. Questioned – EMR’s claimed as 30, when 20 have been trained. Bassing spoke to Steve Flarity. 2. Last month’s claims approval had no motion. Violation of state statute – a vote is required.

3. Suggested not accepting Old Hwy 77 for the township. Norene Butala: Rec Dept having Pizza party and silent auction – Oct 20 – at Vermilion Club. Thurs Nov 8 – fall cleanup. Mark Drobac – asked when the clerk will have a copy of fire dept inventory? Ralston replied – will be presented at Nov meeting. Jeff Maus – was the letter sent by him put in the public packet? Also, why are you moving the public comment at end of meeting? What if someone wants to talk about an item on the agenda? Supervisor campaign comments. Steve Rodgers says he is okay with changing the agenda. Mike Ralston states he takes personal offense to John and JoAnn Bassings’ letter about training. He is on many advisory boards. He will go to training if he feels it is pertinent to the township.
