Public Comment:      Jeff Maus- comments on open government- people are ignoring open meeting laws. The meetings need to be posted as that, for the public and supervisors to attend. Deluca voted recently voted no to a motion concerning open meeting law. Maus called Attorney Couri to talk to Deluca about open meeting law. Suggests Deluca consider resignation.        Maus noted-Deluca is involved in the committee with the fire dept. employee policies and was involved in moving fd. monies to PERA, with Chief Fazio as someone to be contacted. Deluca (who now wants all township correspondence) has no right to tell the clerk what to do. There is no place for harassment or bullying here.                                    Mary Richard reports on how well the fall rummage sale went. DAV van was there also.                       Pam Lundstrom noted the Pizza party fundraiser for the GACB will be Oct 21.   Also, the 40th anniversary celebration will be Aug 18, 2018.                                                                                                                      Rick Stoehr- says after his heart attack- he is okay with joining the Cook-Orr Hospital District- now sees it as something good.                                 Carmen Deluca says he does everything by the law-he then read portions of an e-mail he received from our attorney, Mike Couri, about duties for the clerk and the supervisors, noting he is willing to give copies to anyone who would like one.

Correspondence: letter MAT- bond limits for clerk and treasurer can be raised. MAT newsletter. Notice for IRRRB grant opportunities. Letter from Lee Peterson concerning Cook-Orr Hospital District.

Tower Breitung Fire District is on hold. Possible district with either Tower or Breitung

NEW BUSINESS

Motion: Deluca\Tahija to approve language change on SOG and Personnel Policy regarding EMR to read on POC document-(last Page under Pension) if such a member has attended at least 4 hours of continuing education during each half of the year. Same on Personnel Policy – page 9 last paragraph                  Passed 5/0

Lighting at Birch Point Rd entry- tabled

Job posting notices for Assistant Chief and Admin. Assistant need to have a 30-day posting per SOG’s

Reports: Supervisors Tahija-attended Tower Ambulance meeting- wanting to change the way they charge, want to go to charge per parcel.  They are looking at buying a new ambulance.    Ralston- non-emergency calls –charge?  Fazio to check with other depts.   Bassing- attended Couri Ruppe Legal seminar- subjects included open meeting laws, hospital district. Also attended the Lake Vermilion Trail meeting-Breitung is out- Lee Peterson and Jim Hannerbary walked the path to set up a trail.                       Fire Dept.- runs- fire-4, EMS-19, Drill-1, Meeting-1, Training-2- extrication and cold water rescue. Valve work complete on boat 1, hose to Vermilion Lake and Ely. Attended live burn- 2 members participated and 3 members utilized boat 1 for water supply. Looking at a grant for new radios. Fire dept. records to the clerk.  ISO maps file closed per Gladys. Also cleared waterlines to pavilion.                911: 2 new addresses and 6 replacement signs                   Clerk: septic is scheduled to be pumped. Packets for supervisors will now be available on Friday before the Tuesday board meeting. The agenda for the next board meeting will be on the website on the Wednesday before the Tuesday board meeting.
