Correspondence:  letter from Rob Ecklund- no legislation in regard to the hospital district. Smokey Bear sign questions.  SLCAT minutes. Letter from the City of Orr regarding the newspaper article written by Anthony  Sikora.  Thank you from SLC FAIR association. SLC about ordering liquid calcium chloride.

Public Comment: M Drobac asked if the airboat was running. Fazio-yes. M Richard talked about the Rummage sale coming up on 13th. P Lundstrom thanked everyone for a successful fundraiser for 4th of July.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Memorandum of understanding – fire brigade

Motion: Bassing\Deluca to terminate memorandum of understanding with the Lake Vermilion Fire Brigade, in writing.                Discussion on looking into the service again                                          Passed 5/0

 

Employee personnel policy at township attorney

 

Pickleball nets- one up and 2nd ready to be put up

 

Cook-Orr Hospital district- should be watched as time goes on

 

Fire Dept.  POC and BYLAWS- Motion: Deluca\Bassing for POC and SOG to go to fire dept. and township attorney for review. Back to board in June.                    Passed 4/1 Bassing against sending to fire dept.

 

Garbash Day- May 20th 8:00 am- coffee and doughnuts, pizza at noon. Sentence to serve will be helping.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Motion:  Bassing\Skubic to authorize Pam Rodgers, Sue Drobac, and Nancy Ralston to use online banking for internal transfers with Frandsen Bank.                                    Passed 5/0

 

Comment action- board will be more responsive to public comments, etc.

 

Fire department-Bassing asked about educational monies used for the year…Fazio said some was used.      Log books for trucks have begun to be used.

 

Motion: Deluca\Skubic to sign contract with ESC monitoring systems                        Passed 5/0

 

Smokey bear signs- Federal  Gov. owns the signs. Deluca to get new signs, decals, supplies to repair signs. Mary Richard will take care of Smokey Bear signs.

 

Motion: Deluca\Bassing to go with Coldsnap for Website work.   Questions on cloud backup.                         Passed 4/1    Ralston opposed

Motion: Bassing\Ralston to authorize Pam Rodgers, as admin. , to create a Facebook account for Greenwood Township.                                                                           Passed 5/0

 

40th anniversary- Jarri Ankrum gave an estimate of costs.                                                                               Motion: Ralston\Tahija to approve $2,000.00 for use on the 40th anniversary celebration.      Passed 5/0

 

Painting town hall –Deluca to get quotes for June

 

Report on Board of Appeal and Equalization- no one came in person, 2 letters and 3 changes by county.

 

Report on MAT summer short course \ including Board of Appeal and Equalization training (also online on Dept. of Revenue website)

 

Reports: Fire Dept.-attached.

Motion: Deluca\Ralston to appoint Donovan Strong as Assistant Chief, and Howard Ankrum as Administration Assistant, for 6 month position.  Discussion on qualifications.

Passed 4/1 Bassing against.

Motion: Ralston\ Bassing to approve payment for 3 firefighter license – $75.00 each.         Passed   5/0

Safety- fire boat 1 at Grubens, fire boat 2 at Birch Point.  Drill on boats coming up.  Pump simulation training. EMS Conference. Fire Chief Conference.

Motion: Ralston\Deluca to set up fire department liaison committee                        Passed 5/0

911-attached. Supervisors- Ralston- discussion on employee on workman’s comp.                              Motion: Ralston\Tahija for the clerk to contact workman’s comp representative regarding this employee on returning to work on a part time basis                                         Passed 4/1   Bassing opposed                     Clerk-fire dept. computer was repaired and can be used. Broadband to be finished next Wed.

Bassing- Lake Vermilion Trail meeting next week- Greenwood section looking good for being at the top of the list for completion. Tower-Breiting not looking good for a new building.
