Public comment: Marilyn Mueller does not approve of the treasurer being gone 4 months, with the deputy being paid. The clerk is gone and has to take the deputy’s pay out of the wages. She wants to keep the public comment as residents need their word to be heard. Mark Drobac – question for Deluca – why use the Township attorney when questions can be answered by the MAT lawyers for free? Deluca said – MAT lawyers don’t cover a lot of stuff. Lee Peterson – TAAS had a contentious meeting. Looking at a new contract with townships. He feels the attorney should look at the contract. John Bassing – No townships agree with TAAS. Jeff Damm from Bois Forte does not want to give more money. Ambulance transfers create a lot of wear and tear on the ambulances. Broadband final request for proposal will be next month and given to engineering firms. JoAnn Bassing – thank you to the board for taking the mea culpa for being found in fault in the advisory opinion with Jeff Maus. Marcie Moe – was a letter published from the attorney with reasons for hiring a clerk \ treasurer? No. If Option B passes, she would like to see a probationary period. Jeff Maus – back up Lee \ John with TAAS. Looking at how Tower will replace the money for the Ambulance – will not be an easy road. TAAS missed 17 area calls for the ambulance because of transfer runs. Opinion from IPAD issued – Attorney Couri represents the board – shifted blame from the board to the clerk – not acceptable.
