Chief Fazio – 5 applicants for the Safety Officer – Brian Trancheff, Jeff Maus, Rick Worringer, Roth Indihar, Eric Milbridge. The Fire Dept recommended Rick Worringer.

Discussion on putting on the ballot in March 2020, the Question of property owners doing brushing for right of way on their own properties.

REPORTS: Supervisors: Beihoffer questioned why the flags have not been changed. The clerk asked for a volunteer.
Motion: Ralston to approve applying for a Blandin grant for $8,858.00 failed – no second
Ralston said he thinks the township is ready to appoint a clerk and treasurer. Ralston to check on the procedure for a change. Also, looking at the hours and responsibilities for a deputy clerk, and deputy treasurer. Skubic commented on how bad the recycling location has become.
Motion: Ralston\Deluca to move the recycling to a county location Passed 5/0 Skubic suggested a sign to direct residents to new location.
Deluca – noted the alarm system has a phone line failed (Frontier called), and would like someone in the fire department to be on the call list for the alarm system. The air conditioner in the outer office is not working. North Country will be called. 6 911 signs were made. Fire Dept: runs – 13 fire, 26 ems, 1 drill, 2 mtg, 1 ems training, 1 ff training. 3 maintenance dates. Chief Fazio reported the PERA fund is at 199.18% funded- which is overfunded. Thus, the township will not contribute now. Talked about a PERA analysis for fire dept.
Motion: Deluca\Beihoffer to approve having Chief Fazio set up a PERA analysis for the fd Passed 5/0 Fazio reported: Camp Ripley will be having EMR classes. Pump testing is complete – 1 repair needed. Training will be in June for pump operations. Firefighting classes will be in Cherry and Chisholm. The fd plaques will need to be updated, as Howard Ankrum has retired. Thank you to Howard. A lock box is now being used for the run reports.
A notice will be put up regarding a quorum of supervisors at the District 10 meeting.
Treasurer Rodgers asked about the roster regarding members not separating or retiring on the listing. Fazio said they are deferred. Clerk asked about when the paving will be done, because there are people still using the pavilion. Ralston will be checking on timeline and asked for a 2-week notice. The deposits for the hall\pavilion will not be transferred to another entity. Deputy Clerk, John Bassing has scanned one half of the fire dept. records onto a thumb drive. Retrofit company picked up the old copier and several small items.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Lee Peterson – Thanked Ralston for bringing the Blandin grant project to the board again. Thanked the board for moving the recycling cannisters, and repair of the walking trail – it is used often. John Bassing – They have gone to other townships and all were unanimous on working with Blandin grant project. Our township needs to get behind this, to get ahead – it is very important. Blandin is providing the seed money for this project. Volunteers are not making money on this project. Ralston noted Broadband is funded by state also.
CORRESPONDENCE: SLC variance for Roskoski, SLC variance for Hasbrook \ Pride, SLC variance for Olson, letter from Couri & Ruppe noticing an increase in hourly rate of $210.00 per hour for general legal work and $230.00 per hour for development work, effective Jan. 1, 2020.
